More than ever we need to listen to our bodies and focus on our mental health. Twenty-eight percent of people experiencing a lot of disruption in their lives due to coronavirus reported major negative mental health impacts. During these unprecedented times, we all may be experiencing increased stress levels, fear, and anxiety. It can all be overwhelming and cause chronic health problems and mental conditions as well as daily factors such as sleeping schedule.
Staying in harmony with our bodies
The soul, mind, and body define a complete human being. It’s important to Pause. Breathe and notice how you feel. Are you overwhelmed? that is okay and completely normal. These are some simple ways you can relax your mind a bit during all this chaos
Put your phone down for a little bit take a break from Covid-19 content and look around you. Appreciate your surroundings whatever that may be it could be your family, location, or even just observing.
Nature is calling
Nature is part of our everyday life, take the moment to appreciate it. It performs major miracles for us every day. From giving us great views and providing us with resources to live. Sit and observe these miracles first hand. The bee pollinating the flowers to the baby birds chirping while waiting for their mother to feed them. Studies have shown connecting with the earth have measurable impacts on your wellbeing
Exercise is a great stress reliever
Stress is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. Stress is your body’s reaction to a challenge or demand which can be positive for only a short period of time before it is considered unhealthy. Go out for a walk or jog and feel the breeze hit your face.
Today, exercise remains the best way to relieve tension this is because stress causes our bodies to produce adrenaline. Stored in our autonomic nervous in tiny vesicles. By staying active this adrenaline will actually be used and simultaneously reduce stress and emptying out the vesicles.
Yoga
One of my personal favorite ways to stay in tune with my body and nature is yoga. It fosters mental calmness and teaches better breathing.
